Here are the steps on how to apply for a PAN card in India:
Online
Go to the NSDL e-Gov website or the UTITSL website.
Click on the "Apply for PAN" link.
Select the type of application you want to make (new PAN, change/correction in PAN data, or reprint of PAN card).
Enter your personal details, including your name, date of birth, address, and PAN number (if you already have one).
Upload scanned copies of your identity proof, address proof, and date of birth proof.
Pay the application fee.
Submit your application.
Offline
Download the PAN application form (Form 49A) from the NSDL e-Gov website or the UTITSL website.
Fill out the form and attach scanned copies of your identity proof, address proof, and date of birth proof.
Send the form to the nearest NSDL/UTITSL PAN service center along with the application fee.
The application fee for a PAN card is:
Rs. 107 for a physical PAN card and e-PAN card (dispatched within India)
Rs. 1017 for a physical PAN card and e-PAN card (dispatched outside India)
Rs. 72 for an e-PAN card only (no physical PAN card)
The processing time for a PAN card is usually 15-20 days. However, it may take longer during peak season.
Once your PAN card is processed, you will receive it by post. You can also download your e-PAN card from the NSDL e-Gov website or the UTITSL website.
Here are some of the documents that you need to submit along with your PAN application form:
Identity proof: Aadhaar card, passport, driving license, voter ID card, PAN card (if you already have one), etc.
Address proof: Aadhaar card, voter ID card, bank statement, utility bill, etc.
Date of birth proof: Aadhaar card, passport, birth certificate, etc.
